Maxillaria rufescens - (Ecuador)

This amazing species has a very powerful fragrance of vanilla in the warmth of the afternoon. Like many warm growing Maxillarias, this one is easy to grow and you'll soon be giving away pieces to your friends. The variety here, sold in a 4-inch pot, has yellow sepals and petals with an orange hue on the outer surface. The lip is also yellow with conspicuous red blotches. A wonderful Ecuadorian species.
