A Beginners Introduction to Orchids
Ken Meier introduces his audience to 'What makes an orchid an orchid' and then goes through the various genera or groups of orchids and discusses the conditions they require in order to grow and bloom in the home. As Ken discusses the light, water and care of each type of orchid, he debunks the myth that orchids are difficult to grow and dispells the common belief that you need a greenhouse to grow orchids. Members of the audience are encouraged to bring their orchids (good and bad) to the meeting to be discussed. Ken will be able to help those with struggling plants to help you grow and bloom them better.
A Beginners Introduction to Orchids is perfect for the beginner and Novice orchid growers as well as garden club members interested in growing orchids. When available, Ken will bring plants to sell, specifically with the novice in mind.
This talk is presented via slides, plants, and group discussion.
